Untitled #64

Lembeck, Jack

Untitled #64

acrylic on paper

1996 Gift of Louis K. Meisel Gallery, New York

Jack Lembeck's art is inspired by children's art, grafitti, and the environment of New York City. His art combines elements of realism and abstraction. Color, texture and the illusion of three-dimensional space characterize his Abstract Illusionist art. "Untitled # 64" is a companion piece to "Untitled # 65". Both paintings are comprised of lines and shapes that appear to float above the paper and cast shadows upon it.
